Brianna & Sam

3.16.2024 | Barn South

How We Met

Brianna and Sam found Marmaros Productions through their venue, Barn South. Since they were living out of state, they wanted to find a planner who was local and familiar with Barn South. We heard from them in January of 2023 and shortly after having a call to go over who we are and what we do, we had a March 2024 wedding on our calendar!

Love Story

We love hearing love stories written by our couples! Read about Bri & Sam's journey from Bri's point of view!

"On December 14th, 2022, Sam (finally!!) proposed! We were on a family vacation in Copper Mountain, CO. We were getting ready for what I thought were family pictures for my mom’s birthday (also December 14th). Looking back, this seems so obvious that I should have realized what was happening, but after months of my friends telling me that it wasn't happening anytime soon, I gave up hope that he was going to propose on this trip. But, not knowing made it 1000x more special!

After shooting our family pictures, the photographer started doing couples pictures, starting with my older brother Garrett, his wife, and my niece, Georgia. As I was watching Georgia play around in the snow, little did I know that the ring swap was going on behind me and my dad was in on it.

Then it was our turn. The photographer put us back-to-back on a rock overlooking what used to be a lake, which was now frozen over and covered with snow in the -2 degrees weather. As I was trying to keep my balance on the rock, I was completely clueless about what was happening. The photographer told us to turn around and look at each other, and when I did Sam was down on one knee. I immediately fell to my knees where we were then eye to eye and started crying. He said a speech, which I didn’t hear a word of, but I immediately said YES!

When I turned around, my family was smiling and cheering, which made the moment more special. After, we went and took pictures with the photographer at a few of the prettiest destinations and met up with my family afterward in Breckenridge for a celebratory dinner. I never would have dreamt of such an amazing and thought-out proposal, but Sam knocked it out of the park!"

Down to Business

We love planning weddings at Barn South because we know it like it's the back of our hand. Shortly after we had a signed contract in hand, we scheduled our first call to get down to business with Brianna and Sam. We were so excited to hear all about their vision! Due to the distance between states, all of our meetings were virtual, but we did have the pleasure of meeting Brianna and Sam in person at Barn South in February prior to the big day. At this point, everything had been planned and we were just nailing down all of the logistics and little details. The day before wedding day, we headed up to downtown Gainesville to rehearse the order of the ceremony with the wedding party. After a few practices, we felt good for the next day and this group was ready for their dinner and to celebrate our bride and groom. Everyone was anxiously anticipating the following day!

The Big Day

The wedding day was finally here! The day started with the girls getting ready in the bridal suite at Barn South with Formal Faces doing hair and makeup. Vendors trickled in throughout the morning to start their setup for the day. When Marmaros arrived, the girls were putting on their final touches, popped a bottle of champagne, and took some adorable pajama photos! After the getting ready photos, Mallory, of M Visuals, and Scott, of Scott Belanger Films, took time capturing the details and the venue while the ladies went and put on their dresses from Shop Revelry. Lindsey with Petaling Blooms was hard at work with all things florals as we spent time setting up the reception space with the decor that Brianna and Sam had brought in. Once Brianna was in her dress from Lovely Bride, she did a series of first looks. First - with her mom, followed by first look moments with her bridesmaids and her dad. By this time, our guys had arrived for the day and were hanging out in the airstream. Once Sam was all ready, Brianna and Sam did a first touch and read vows to one another - all while avoiding seeing one another until the processional! After Mallory and Scott had captured all of the group content that they needed, we sent the wedding party to their respective places to rest up a little prior to the ceremony as guests started to arrive.

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! Brianna and Sam opted to have their ceremony outside which we always love at Barn South since it is such a pretty setting! We kept Brianna in the bridal suite as we sent the family and wedding party down the aisle to ensure Sam couldn’t take any sneak peeks! We closed the big barn doors and opened them for Brianna to have a grand entrance when walking down the aisle to her groom! A family member of theirs performed their ceremony. We love it when someone close to the couple is the officiant because this always makes the ceremony more personal and intimate. Before we knew it, Brianna and Sam were pronounced husband and wife, they wrapped up their ceremony with a kiss, and then "Signed Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder played for them to walk back down the aisle to! It’s always so fun to witness the moments at the end of the aisle when a bride and groom take in the fact that they are married and their wedding party comes along and celebrates this fact!

Guests were invited to the side patio of Barn South for a cocktail hour where they could enjoy some yummy appetizers by Trumps Catering and get drinks from Get Fizzy ATL. Meanwhile, our couple took photos with their family and wedding party before being whisked away to take some couple photos. At the end of cocktail hour, guests were encouraged to find their seats so that we could get the reception started. To kick off the reception, our DJ with Club Rett introduced the wedding party followed by our newlyweds! Brianna and Sam went straight into their first dance which was to "Love You for a Long Time" by Maggie Rogers. After the first dance, both of the dads were invited up to do a welcome speech and to bless the food. Dinner was served and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and mingled with those at the tables with them. Brianna and Sam did a round of hellos with their guests prior to heading out front to capture some golden hour content. Once they had made their way back inside, they sat back down to hear some toasts by their matron of honor, maid of honor, and best man. Brianna and Sam headed over to their cake to do a small cake cutting followed by grabbing cupcakes (from Trumps Catering) to enjoy! The last of our formalities before the party really got started was the parent dances. Brianna took the floor with her dad followed by Sam and his mom. The dance floor was officially opened at this point and this group was in the party mood! It’s so fun to be a fly on the wall as loved ones dance and celebrate the love of their people - the joy truly fills the room! Once it was time for the night to end, we shuffled guests out to the side patio while Brianna and Sam had a moment to have a private last dance together to really just soak up the day. Last but not least, our newlyweds ran through a tunnel of sparklers to wrap up the night. Overall this was such a fun and joyous day!

Something Spectacular

One of the most fun parts of planning a wedding is picking out all of the little details which showcase a couple’s style and the overall vibe of the wedding. An aspect of a wedding that is the first introduction to the design of a wedding is the invitation suite. Brianna and Sam’s invitation suite was a stunning blue and white suite that included a monogram, beautiful florals, and a gold wax seal. These invitations were so beautiful, that we were so excited to see aspects of them represented again on the wedding day. All of the signage carried the color scheme of blue, white, and gold, and their custom cups included their monogram. The most spectacular thing though was Brianna and Sam’s seating chart. Even though they were coming in from out of state, Brianna and Sam made a huge seating chart display which had the same blue and white florals and gold wax seals of their wedding invitation suite!  This was a stunning design feature of the patio space and we loved how they kept the theme design and scheme from their invitations all the way throughout their big day!

Happily Ever After

It is always a pleasure to go back to Barn South and Brianna and Sam’s wedding day was just that - an absolute pleasure! Brianna & Sam - we feel so blessed that you and your families entrusted us with your big day. It was so fun to get to see the two of you become man and wife surrounded by all of your loved ones. Thank you for letting us play a part in a day that you’ll remember for the rest of your lives. Wishing you both all the best!
