How We Met
Desaree and Cyrus inquired with Marmaros Productions while Megan was on maternity leave, so a discovery call with Mallory was set up. In that call, Mallory heard all about Desaree’s vision, how she was doing with wedding planning, and even bonded over the fact that they would be planning their weddings at the same time. In that call, Desaree told Mallory, don’t say more - I’m going to book Marmaros, and shortly afterwards we had an October wedding at Swan Lake Overlook on our calendar. We were thrilled!
Down to Business
Desaree and Cyrus had a good chunk of their vendors booked by the time they booked Marmaros, so that allowed us to dive straight into the logistics and details of the day. We met over Google Meets and our meetings were always so productive. Desaree always arrived to meetings with plenty of questions and ideas which we were happy to hash out with her. In September, we headed to Swan Lake Overlook for a walkthrough - it was so great to have the opportunity to meet in person prior to wedding day. On the Friday before the big day, we headed back to Swan Lake Overlook for a rehearsal. All of Desaree and Cyrus’ family and wedding party practiced the ceremony on top of the hill and you could tell everyone was so excited to celebrate the couple over the weekend!
The Big Day
The day was finally here! It was Desaree and Cyrus’ wedding day! The ladies started their day by working on their hair and getting makeup done by VionBritne. When we arrived at Swan Lake Overlook, we stopped by and said our hellos to the ladies who were relaxing listening to music, wrapping up makeup, and enjoying quality time together. After that, we headed down to the reception space to get started on going through the decor that Desaree brought in and placing it where it belonged. We generously had the help of both Desaree and Cyrus’ moms which was helpful because sometimes its beneficial to have a second (or even third) set of eyes to make sure decor looks absolutely perfect. Their florist, SomeTheme to Talk About was busy at work putting the final touches on the stunning floral arrangements for the day. Taun Henderson Photography, who was doing photo and video for the day, arrived and got straight to work taking detail photos and getting ready photos. After Desaree wrapped up taking photos in the most fabulous robe we’ve ever seen, she went back into the bridal suite and got into her incredible dress from Wedding Angels Bridal. Next, we took her to the hill for her first look with Cyrus. We love witnessing this special moment on wedding day! Taun Henderson Photography whisked our couple away to knock out as many photos prior to the ceremony as possible. Meanwhile, we got back to work setting everything up in the reception space.
We tucked everyone away and encouraged everyone to rest and grab some water as we got all of the guests seated. Once all of the guests made their way up the hill at Swan Lake Overlook, we led the wedding party up to start the ceremony. After the officiant and parents walked down the aisle, Cyrus kicked off the wedding party portion of the processional. After we sent the wedding party down in pairs, it was Desaree’s big moment to walk down the aisle to her groom escorted by her father. Jonathan Mintz, their officiant, led such a sweet and sentimental ceremony and in front of all of their family and friends Desaree and Cyrus were pronounced husband and wife! Their recessional song started and these two jumped the broom and headed back down the aisle as newlyweds!
Guests were invited to the patio space in front of the reception hall for some drinks by Bailey’s Bartending and appetizers by Chef JRob. Groove Centric, a four piece band, played for the guests for the duration of the cocktail hour. We loved this fun touch! Meanwhile, Desaree, Cyrus, the wedding party, and family were busy knocking out all of the large group photos. Before we knew it, it was time to kick off the reception, so we invited guests to find their seats and got the wedding party lined up for introductions. The wedding party was introduced to Too Hot by Kool and the Gang followed by our new Mr. and Mrs. We headed straight into the first dance before hearing a welcome by Desaree’s mom and a blessing by Desaree’s dad. Desaree and Cyrus took their seats and we started to dismiss tables to go get dinner. Chef JRob made some of the tastiest and unique food we have ever had at a wedding! As everyone was wrapping up dinner, Desaree and Cyrus headed over to cut their cake made by This Little Light Bakery. After grabbing a piece of cake (and some yummy desserts) Desaree and Cyrus headed back to their table to hear toasts from their people of honor. Before opening up the dance floor, we witnessed a father daughter dance to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw and a mother son dance to Stand By Me by Ben E. King. Next, the dance floor opened up and guests were ready to party! The Biggz Experience, the DJ for the night, got everyone on their feet and on the dance floor. Desaree spent some time dancing and mingling with guests before sneaking off and changing into the most fabulous bridal jumpsuit we have ever seen. When she came back, we did a bouquet toss. At the end of the night, we lined everyone up the stairs for a bubble send off - such a perfect end to the day!
Something Spectacular
It's no doubt that Desaree loves the glam of old Hollywood. On wedding day, Desaree and Cyrus had a vintage car, but this wasn’t only for their send off! Their vintage car arrived at the start of the day and took them around wherever they needed to go on property. The vintage car was also a great photo opportunity and we love how Desaree and Cyrus were able to get photos with their car day and night because the sunlight provided a different vibe each time they took pictures with the car. This detail of their wedding truly pushed the old Hollywood feel and was such a unique addition to their big day!
Happily Ever After
It was so fun seeing Desaree and Cyrus’ vision come to life after all of the months of discussing and planning it! We are so happy for these two love birds and wish them nothing but the best!
