How We Met
Grace found us on The Knot in October 2019 and told us she was getting married at this new venue that wasn’t completed yet called Barn South in July 2020. Little did we know that Barn South would quickly become one of our favorite venues in North Georgia! We hopped on a phone call to discuss more of what Grace & Johnny had in mind and how Marmaros could help them. A few days later, we were booked and ready to go for July 2020 - or so we thought.
Love Story
We love getting to hearing about how our couples fell in love - especially when it was a long time coming! Read how Grace & Johnny fell in love through Grace's eyes:
“Johnny and I grew up in the same church together. We grew up playing cops and robbers, running around the church to being in the same Sunday School class since we can remember...(10 years old?) Then came our preteen years where there were rumors that he had a crush on me and I had a crush on him. We knew it to be true, but we left it at that. ...Cause you know, preteen crush. Giggle giggle and that was that. (Lol!) Then came our teenage years where dial-up internet was so cool and all you did was instant message friends on MSN chat... So we chatted here and there. Then it became every night at 8. (Our unofficial official internet dates.) & then before we realized it...that was the start of our relationship at 15 years old... fast forward (but slowly) here we are getting married & in love 13 years later!”
Down to Business
We met with Grace & Johnny for the first time in late 2019 to discuss their timeline and get to know each other. But we guess it’s no surprise that due to covid, Grace & Johnny decided to postpone their wedding until April 2021 so they could safely celebrate with all of their friends and family. No big deal! But they did decide to go ahead and tie the knot on July 11th at the courthouse with both sets of parents! Moving their party wasn’t hard since they were going to use the same venue and vendors. We continued our meetings on Google Hangouts talking details and making plans. About a month out from wedding day, we met at Barn South and made final decisions with Rachel & Beth and we were so ready to go! We were back on April 1st for rehearsal with family and the DJ Jordan Hicks to make sure we had everything we needed!
The Big Day
Since Grace & Johnny’s friends were taking care of setting up, we made sure the name tags for the ceremony were in place and started cleaning up the extra boxes and putting things away. Soon that Whitney from Blush + Bonnet Co & Sam Visual the Videographer arrived to begin shooting details while Grace was getting the final touches done to her makeup and hair by her friends, Choua Moua & Season Lee. Not long after, it was time for Grace to step into her dress, Johnny to put on his tux, and get ready for the first look! These two are so adorable and their love is so, so sweet! Their first look was so precious and we went straight into couple photos before inviting all their close friends out for photos with the Bride and Groom! As Friend & Family photos continued, the catering team from Talay Thai Cuisine arrived and began boxing up dinner and getting it ready for the reception while DJ Jordan Hicks & Hannah the Bartender arrived to set up for the day. We hid Grace & Johnny away as guests began to arrive and the greeters and the ushers, who were friends of Grace & Johnny, were directing guests to their seats.
This was the first time we have done a ceremony outside at Barn South and we were so excited since it was a perfect day! We lined up the family, flower girls, and ring bearer and started the ceremony! Grace & Johnny didn’t have a bridal party so the processional went very fast! The Minister was Johnny’s cousin performed the ceremony and conducted their sand unity perfectly. Finally, these two were announced Husband and Wife! We brought them inside and served them their appetizers and got them a beverage and gave them some time to relax and decompress. All the guests were directed to the side of the building for a cocktail hour by the MC who was Grace’s uncle.
Guests were invited to find their seats before we introduced Grace & Johnny and began hearing toasts from both sets of parents. Grace & Johnny wrapped up the toasts by thanking all of their vendors and friends who helped them make their day the best day ever!
The buffet opened and guests came to get their premade packages of food while Grace & Johnny went to greet their guests! We snuck the couple out for sunset photos before cutting the cake and lining up for the fake send-off. Once we got everyone back inside, the party began! This group danced for hours to all different kinds of music! They were having such a fun time! We began packing up and helping load all the decor and gifts into the cars and by the end of the night, everyone was so happy!
Something Spectacular
When we arrived at the venue on wedding day, there were so many friends working very hard to set up all the decor and flowers for Grace & Johnny! From table runners and bouquets to aisle markers and flowers on the cross, we have never seen a group of people work so diligently and swiftly to make the vision come to life! This is something so special that we were in awe of - their friends were fundamental in making every part of their day so perfect. Grace & Johnny are so loved!
Raving Reviews
"My husband and I knew we wanted a wedding coordinator for our big day... but we also knew we were on a budget. We came across Marmaros Productions and couldn’t be happier from the start of the planning to the very end! Marmaros (Megan) met us 3x, and each time it was always so thorough and on point. We always covered everything needed. She had templates and timelines set up for me to complete. Not only was it during those 3 meetings, but also whenever I needed her and contacted her... Megan was very responsive and helpful. They were super flexible and understanding and still even worked with me throughout the Covid craziness. They handled everything on walk-thru day with our venue (cause I had no idea what to expect). For rehearsal, it couldn’t have ran any smoother. On the day of wedding, Megan & Mallory both made the day seamless! I never worried or stressed. EVER. Everything was perfect! They handled everything behind the scenes. Whatever we asked of, they executed. Whatever they didn’t want me to worry about, they handled it. I never felt the pressure of making decisions in any way I didn’t want. They never pressured me!! They wanted what I envisioned and stood behind me & my vision 100%. I would recommend them to anyone! Marmaros is professional, organized, on point, & fun! They’re the best! 💯 & Did I mention, they even got on the dance floor with me! 💃🏻"
Happily Ever After
Getting to know Grace & Johnny throughout this process was so fun! They are both so kind and sweet and made us feel like we were part of their family. We are so happy these two got to have the wedding day they were dreaming of - even if it didn’t happen when it was supposed to. We wish Grace & Johnny every happiness as they continue into married life together. Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Yang!
