How We Met

An email inquiry came in from Gracie & David right after Christmas of 2020. She had heard about us from one of our former bride’s mom’s and Gracie and her mom, Lynne, really enjoyed our social media. We jumped on a video call with Gracie & Lynne to talk about the upcoming wedding and how we could help. We calmed their fears about things that went wrong at Gracie’s sister’s wedding and how we would avoid those hiccups. We hung up and not very much longer we had a wedding at Summerour Studios - a place we had been dying to do a wedding at! We were so excited!

Love Story

We love learning how our couples fell in love. In this case, God had them in the same place for a very long time until they were ready to meet and fall in love. Read about Gracie & David's love journey!

"We are so blessed to get to share our love story with you. The best part is knowing that God had it all planned from the beginning and each one of our steps led us not only to each other, but also into a deeper relationship with Christ. We believe our story is for His glory and that this is only the beginning.

David is from Acworth, GA, and Gracie is from Marietta, GA. They grew up just thirty minutes apart and never knew each other. After high school, they both ended up at the University of Georgia for four overlapping years. Although they ran in different circles and never met (thankfully! God knew what He was doing keeping our college selves separate), they like to think about how their paths might have crossed during this time at various football games or concerts. It is even possible that they were in a snowball fight with each other in downtown Athens one winter. We like to think so :)

The Lord led them both to Nashville separately after college to pursue their careers. In Gracie's second year as a teacher living in Nashville, she became friends with David's sister, Michelle. Out to dinner one night, Michelle and Gracie ran into David on the sidewalk and Gracie said, "Michelle! Why did I not know you had a cute brother in Nashville? You should bring him around!" Thankfully, Michelle brought David to Bible Study at Gracie's house soon after and the rest is history!

They started dating a few months after meeting and just a few months after that they knew they would be getting married! Gracie read a Christian romance novel in high school about a girl who falls in love with a man named David. Ever since then, she has been calling her future husband “My David” and praying that she would meet her David someday. It is really sweet of the Lord to bring her a man who actually is named David! So Gracie got her David and they now live in Nashville, TN surrounded by an awesome community and excited to start the rest of their lives together!"

Down to Business

Since Megan’s husband travels for his job, we set up a trip to Nashville to meet Gracie & David. Megan & Gracie spent hours at Pinewood Social starting with caffeine and ending with a couple cocktails talking through all the details of Gracie & David’s wedding! Gracie invited Megan & Brandon to Trivia Tuesday and there the men hit it off as well. Needless to say, the 6 months of planning was so fun! We met in person a couple more times - including a walk-through - and talked periodically. We were so ready for wedding day!

The Big Day

On wedding day, the ladies got ready at the Renaissance Hotel where Jahna Christa Hair & Makeup made sure these beautiful girls were ready to go! At 1PM, we arrived at Summerour Studios where we began unloading all the decor & personal items to begin transforming the venue. Unique Event Elements was already in the process of putting up the drapes on the ceremony wall and in the middle of the room to separate the tables from the ceremony space. Gracie was getting into her dress upstairs with the help of her mom with Chris Hardin Photography & Oak and Willow right alongside to capture the moment. Bold Catering arrived and began unloading their truck while Gold and Bloom began laying out centerpieces on all the tables. Working together, we laid out table numbers and made sure each table had the right amount of seats and that the floor plan matched the one we planned. Things were moving right along for photos as we did a first look with the bridesmaids, dad, and David! Soon our musicians began to arrive and prep for the ceremony & reception. The Atlanta Wedding Band and personal friends of the Babcocks did a soundcheck as ceremony quickly approached! Soon we had everyone lined up and ready to go for ceremony and the excitement was palpable! The room was full and we began processional to get Gracie & David married!

When these two were finally one, the vibe of a party really began! As soon as all the bridal party was down the aisle, Gracie detached her skirt from her dress and David led the party and family in a Call to the Dawgs - to say they were excited is an understatement! As soon as we got all the guests into the cocktail spaces and family photos were done, we began flipping the room and getting it ready for the reception. Gracie & David got some more photos together before having a private moment while we escorted all the guests to their seats.

The wedding party and Gracie & David were introduced down the stairs that they got married in front of before moving into their first dance and hearing a moving speech from Gracie’s dad, Peter before the buffet opened and guests enjoyed the DELICIOUS food. Gracie & David walked around and talked with their guests before we cut the cake and Gracie got a bite of her Key Lime Pie. Gracie & David danced with their parents before we opened up the dance floor and Atlanta Wedding Band lit the floor on fire! We danced for hours under the floral hoop which was such a hit with the guests! Gracie & David both sang the chants from their sorority and fraternities and got lifted in the air by their guests before we had the last song of the night and guests lined up outside for the send off. As Gracie & David made their way to the convertible that was waiting for them, guests threw lavender at them which turned out so pretty in photos! We waved goodbye to the adorable couple and wished them the best of time on their honeymoon!

Something Spectacular

During their ceremony, Gracie & David took communion together and their families were invited up to do a family prayer. However, the most spectacular thing was Gracie’s Dad sang The Prayer with a family friend Sarah Cottingham. In Italian, Peter sang and filled the ceremony with such a lovely voice and it was so unique! What a special memory Gracie & David have from their day!

Raving Reviews

"Our experience with Megan from Marmaros was absolutely perfect! We cannot recommend her enough. She is organized, calm, and on top of it!!! She also very quickly became a friend with her outgoing personality and humor. If you want your day to go perfectly smooth without you stressing at all - BOOK THEM NOW! Megan was one step ahead of me the whole time and even SEWED MY GROOM’S PANTS UP BEFORE I KNEW THEY HAD RIPPED!!!! Best day ever, thanks to Megan and Marmaros!!!!"

Happily Ever After

Working with Gracie, David, and Lynne throughout the planning process was a dream. We only wish we would have had more time together! We know these two are bound for greatness and Nashville is so lucky to have them! Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. Schwartz!
