How We Met
Ross & Janella found us through The Knot in December of 2021. They inquired about our availability and if we had ever been to their venue, 2400 on the River, before. We hopped on a discovery call with them right before the winter holidays where we explained all it is that we do and how we could play a part in their day. After a few days, we had a signed contract in hand and we were so excited to start discussing and planning their May 2022 wedding!
Down to Business
Since Janella & Ross have families that live all over and were busy visiting them in the months leading up to wedding day, we typically held virtual meetings, but this did not impact the level of productivity in the meetings! It was so fun to get to know Janella & Ross better in the planning process along with meeting their families virtually. By April of 2022, we had a lot of the details nailed down and made our way to 2400 on the River to do a walkthrough of the venue and have a chance to finally meet everyone in person! After the walkthrough, we were all just anxiously awaiting for May!
The Big Day
Wedding day started bright and early for Janella & her gals. The hair and makeup team from Vigilante Cosmetics spent the morning getting the girls all done up while they popped and sipped on some bubbly. The team with Laura Janes Flowers and Gifts arrived at the venue to start unloading and prepping the reception space with some beautiful floral arrangements. Our team arrived around the same time as the catering, Proof of the Pudding who was working on setting up an outdoor prep space for the day. After we greeted the wedding party, we got right to work setting up the reception space. As we were setting the tables and the reception space, their band, Soul Fish arrived, so we showed them where to set up for both the ceremony and later in the evening.
Everything was coming together in the reception space, so we went to the bridal greenhouse to check on the girls and we couldn't have had more perfect timing because we got to see the bridesmaids dressed to the nines in their dresses from Show Me Your Mumu and Janella putting on her finishing touches to her bridal look! We were ready to get everyone lined up, so we got the golf carts from the venue running to get the wedding party up to the outdoor ceremony space. We sent everyone down the aisle and Matt Hayes from Northpoint Ministries led their ceremony keeping God the center of their union.
After the ceremony wrapped up, guests were shuttled down to the reception space, but instead of going into the main dining area, they were invited to the beautiful pavilion that overlooks the river and were served appetizers (who doesn't love a good charcuterie board) and cocktails. Soul Fish, the band for the evening, performed some live music while guests mingled with one another. Meanwhile, Janella, Ross, the wedding party, and family stayed up at the ceremony spot to knock out a majority of the large group photos with their photographer Joey Wallace Photography. We headed back to the dinner location to help out Proof of the Pudding to make sure the space was ready for guests to come in.
We kicked off the reception by introducing the new Mr. & Mrs. along with some of their loved ones. Janella and Ross took their seats and listened to a few toasts which ended in the entire room raising a glass to the newlyweds. Proof of the Pudding started to pass bread and salads to the guests along with offering tableside wine service while they worked on getting dinner out to everyone. Janella and Ross snuck away for some sunset photos and came back inside to mingle with guests before cutting their cake. Once it was time, Janella and Ross made their way over to the cake table where they shared a slice together and also bit into some beautiful cookies that one of their friends designed, baked, and decorated for their day! We invited all of the guests back out to the area which was originally the cocktail hour pavilion, but it doubled as an outdoor dance floor! Janella & Ross shared their first dance together, we heard speeches from some more of their loved ones, and they danced with their parents before fully opening up the dance floor. Once the dance floor was opened, we rarely saw guests leave it unless it was for some fruity water, drinks, fancy popcorn, or fresh cannolis! This group celebrated Janella and Ross so well by dancing the night away to the live tunes of Soul Fish!
Something Spectacular
Something that was so unique about Janella and Ross' day was actually Janella's dress. Every bride picks a dress that is uniquely their style, but sometimes it can be difficult to pick just one! Janella changed looks after dinner, but she didn't necessarily have a dress change. The fullness of her ceremony dress was actually a detachable skirt, and once she removed that she was rocking a form fitting dress! We loved how unique this dress from Magnolia Bride was and could tell that A&J Pro Alterations did a great job altering the dress so that it looked absolutely perfect on Janella!
Happily Ever After
We were so honored to be a part of Janella & Ross’ wedding day! We wish nothing but the best to the new Mr. & Mrs. and are eager to see where the future takes them!
