How We Met
Where do we even begin with how we met Jessica and Kurt?! It truly is a small world because Jessica and Kurt are a couple that Mallory either met or knew prior to when they even met each other! We’ll start with Kurt - Mallory grew up (like went to preschool together) with his cousin, Sarah, and Marmaros ended up having the pleasure of planning Sarah’s wedding in 2019 (which we are sure he was at). Mallory and Jessica have a special connection - they are big and little from their sorority at Kennesaw State University, so lots of memories were created during (and after) their time together as active members of their sorority. When Mallory heard the story of how Jessica met Kurt, she had a hard time believing what she was hearing - not only was Jessica and Kurt’s first few days like it came straight from the pages of a Nicholas Sparks novel, but it was about two people who she knew meeting one another! Needless to say, Mallory was over the moon when they got engaged and was thrilled when Jessica reached out for Marmaros to help with their big day!
Love Story
Kurt and Jessica’s story is so special. The Lord couldn't have made the timing any more perfect, as He intertwined their paths that led them both to Fripp Island during the pandemic. Kurt was in the middle of switching jobs while Jessica's company temporarily closed down. Jessica was also nannying part time for the Barnett’s who asked to help the family at their beach house on Fripp Island while Kurt was there with one of his best friends, Charles Bradley. Interestingly enough Kurt had seen Jessica the day before they truly met as her gold swimsuit caught his eye, lucky for him he saw her again the next day. On 4/22/2020, Kurt and Jessica were at the same access point on the beach. Kurt was throwing a football with Charles, who mentioned he should go talk to the cute girl on the beach. Being the good wingman, Charles “accidently” threw the ball a little too high where it happened to reach Jessica. Jessica and Kurt exchanged simple hello’s but the seed was planted, and eventually Kurt came back, sat down next to Jessica and struck up a conversation. This is simply where it all started. Kurt then asked Jessica to watch the sunset later that day and the rest is history!
Down to Business
Since Jessica and Kurt live in North Carolina, meetings were virtual throughout the planning process, but we still had productive and fun chats! Jessica was busy planning both a traditional Khmer wedding for the spring of 2024 along with planning a winery wedding for the fall of 2024. Marmaros primarily planned the September wedding at Montaluce, but of course we were happy to answer any questions that Jessica had in regards to planning her spring celebration. We frequently met over google meets to go over details like the vendor list, timeline, and decor details. Jessica was always so prepared which made the planning process a breeze. In May, Mallory met up with Jessica and Kurt and a few of their loved ones for a tasting at Montaluce where they confirmed all the little details with the Montaluce team. We met a few times after the tasting to ensure that all of the t’s were crossed and i’s were dotted, but we were just counting down the days until it was wedding weekend!
The Big Day
Wedding day was finally here! The day started bright and early for the girls who were getting hair and makeup done by Emily Willis up in one of the Villa’s on Monatluce’s property. We stopped by the villa to say our hellos and to see if there was anything we could take to the winery for the ladies. Vendors started to arrive, so we directed them to where they needed to go as we waited for the set up to begin and for the wedding party to arrive at the venue. The ladies made their way into the bridal suite after lunch where they got into their dresses and made their way into the hallway so Jessica could get into her dress. Once in her incredible dress from Aisle and Veil, Jessica did a quick first look with her ladies before making her way down to the tree in the vineyard to do a first look with Kurt. Their photographer, Aurora Photography, and videographer, Ashley of Ash & Miles, made sure to capture all of these sweet moments! We knocked out as many group photos as we could prior to the ceremony and in the meantime vendors were hard at work getting the reception area set up for later in the evening.
It was time for the ceremony! We could hear the strings of Amati Music playing and we knew it was time to start sending people down the aisle! A pastor near and dear to Kurt’s family, Pastor Jimmy Kallam, performed a beautiful ceremony which perfectly portrayed Jessica and Kurt’s love. At the end of the ceremony, they lit a unity candle and sealed their vows to one another with a kiss! You could hear all of the guests' applause once they were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. Fulginiti. After the ceremony, guests made their way to cocktail hour to enjoy some appetizers and wine from Montaluce. Marmaros was busy moving the floral arrangements by Fiddle & Branch from ceremony and reception, while the photo and video team were busy capturing family photos and golden hour pictures of our stunning couple.
As photos wrapped up, guests were invited to find their seats for the reception. Jessica and Kurt were introduced for the second time as Mr. & Mrs. Fulginiti and then we heard a welcome from Kurt, a toast from his dad, and a blessing from his mom. Guests enjoyed a delicious plated dinner and once they were done eating, Jessica and Kurt took some time to mingle with their guests before heading over to cut the cake. After cutting the cake (and enjoying a few bites), Jessica and Kurt made their way to the dance floor to share their first dance together followed by dances with their parents. The dance floor was officially opened and Shimmer Band kept the guests on their feet! Guests enjoyed dancing the night away until it was time for the sparkler send off where they cheered on Jessica and Kurt as they headed to their car!
Something Spectacular
Once it’s time to party and get down on the dance floor, it can sometimes be hard to get your boogie on in your original wedding attire. During the evening, once the dance floor was full and guests were enjoying themselves, Jessica stepped away from the party to go change into a shorter dress (which was just as stunning on her as her ceremony dress). Along with the outfit change, to get the guests in the party mood, we handed out light up wands and some cowboy hats to party with on the dance floor. We loved all of these ways that Jessica and Kurt brought an extra level of fun to their reception!
Happily Ever After
What can we say? We love love and we absolutely love it when we get to be a witness to and play a role in the marriage of someone so near and dear to your heart. Jessica and Kurt - we couldn’t be happier for the two of you! Thank you for giving us the honor of helping with your day!
