How We Met
Julia heard about us from Kaitlyn Fellows, a photographer we have worked with many a time and adore! After doing a discovery call with Megan in July, Julia entrusted us with her wedding day at Cator Woolford Gardens for her November wedding and we were so excited to start the planning process!
Down to Business
Mallory and Julia met up at the start of August to begin the planning process of her big day! After that first meeting, we realized that Mallory and Julia lived fairly close to each other, so from that point on all of the meetings were in person (this was a welcomed change to the pandemic norm)! Daniel started to join us in the meetings when his schedule allowed and by October the three of us were doing a tour of Cator Woolford Gardens nailing down all of the little details! Each meeting was so productive and we were just ready for it to be November 13th already!
The Big Day
It was finally the wedding day! Julia and her girls had an AirBnB where they spent the morning just spending time together and getting beautified by Beauty Babes ATL. Since nobody could enter the venue until 2pm, the wedding party ate lunch and got all ready before heading to the venue. Once we arrived at Cator Woolford Gardens, we directed the groomsmen on where to put decor and where to hang out before we went down to the bridal suite to say hello to the ladies! We started to lay out linens and counting chairs before we greeted DJ Troy. Very quickly Troy and Mallory realized they have known each other for years, so getting to work together for the first time was something they were looking forward to! Jwon Florals dropped off the beautiful bouquets that the ladies would be holding. Austin with Maekoi Media arrived and started to take photos of the wedding party as we continued to set up the reception area.
The day was flying by and before we knew it it was time for the wedding party to be tucked away in order to warm up and rest a bit before the ceremony. Daniel Kim, their officiant, knew Julia and Daniel and their love story super well, so he made their ceremony so personal and intimate. After the ceremony was over, guests were invited to the tent to enjoy some drinks and appetizers at cocktail hour.
The guests were shuttled up to the reception space and once everyone was settled in Julia and Daniel were introduced for the *second time* as Mr. & Mrs. Mata-Stern Pae. Julia and Daniel went right into their first dance after being introduced and their dance was followed by Daniel taking the mic and welcoming their guests and thanking them for coming to celebrate him and Julia. Before we released tables to the buffet which was filled with food by Chef Cary's Cuisine, Daniel’s father blessed the food. Julia and Daniel walked around and mingled with their guests for a bit while everyone was enjoying dinner. Next, they headed over to the cake table to cut the absolutely spectacular cake that their friend, Whitney, from Sugar and Slate made. After cutting the cake, we heard toasts from the best man and maid of honor and the room was filled with laughter and heartfelt tears in that moment! To open up the dance floor, Julia and Daniel danced with their parents and then invited everyone to join them out on the dance floor! DJ Troy with Sifi Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night long - all of the guests were loving all of the songs he played! Whenever guests needed a breather from dancing, they stopped by the photo booth provided by Marky Booth. To wrap up the celebration, we lined up all of the guests outside for Julia and Daniel to run through ribbon wands before getting into the car and driving off into wedded bliss!
Something Spectacular
It was apparent how important their families meant to Julia and Daniel. During their ceremony they did a traditional bowing ceremony where they acknowledged their parents and the families that were joining as one through their wedding. Both of their families were so excited to see what Julia and Daniel had planned out for the day and were anxious to help in any way they could, but we had them set down the decor they brought and leave it to us so that they could fully enjoy the day. Daniel’s aunt pulled Mallory aside to make sure that one item in the decor they were dropping off would be taken special care of and would not be seen by Julia and Daniel until it was time. She had brought handmade leis on her carry-on all the way from her home state of Hawaii! After the ceremony and before the introductions into the reception, she had the chance to share her surprise and place them on Julia and Daniel. This was such a sweet moment to witness and was a way to honor family that Julia and Daniel couldn’t even imagine would be possible when they were planning their wedding!
Happily Ever After
Both Julia and Daniel were always full of thoughts, questions, and ideas for every meeting and discussing all of these things over hot drinks was such a pleasure! We miss seeing the two of them in wedding meetings, but their day turned out perfectly! We wish nothing but the best for both of them. Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Mata-Stern Pae!
