Megan & Will

10.23.2021 | Red Top Mountain State Park

How We Met

Megan met Megan and Mallory through the dance program at KSU. Although we all graduated years ago, she had kept up with what Megan and Mallory were doing with Marmaros through Instagram. Once Megan and Will got engaged and picked out a venue, she reached out to Marmaros to see if we could help with their wedding. After a video chat, we had a wedding on the calendar for October 23rd!

Love Story

We love hearing how our couples met! These two have a beautiful love story and they wrote it in a very easy-to-follow timeline (and you know how much we love a good timeline)!

April 2019: We met online through Bumble! Will's profile was completely decked out with "Old Town Road" lyrics. Megan came across his profile while jamming out to this song in her living room, decided to swipe due to the coincidence, and the rest is history!

April 2019: First date at Taqueria Tsunami in The Marietta Square.

June 1, 2019: Date to an ATL United game that turned into walking for miles through downtown Atlanta, which ended in us deciding to be officially in a relationship.

June 2019- November 2020: A whole bunch of life and fun adventures together!

November 8, 2020: Will proposed during a walk at Lake Acworth and Megan said yes!

November 8, 2020 - now: Dreaming of our best lives together!

Down to Business

We were so excited to get to planning out Megan and Will’s day! Our first meeting was at Panera where Mallory and Megan knocked out a large chunk of planning. As we got closer to the wedding day, schedules got busy, so we had frequent virtual meetings (so nobody had to sit through Atlanta traffic). Megan was always so prepared for meetings and kept us in the loop between meetings too! By the time rehearsal came, we were just anxiously waiting for the following day!

The Big Day

On the day of the wedding, Megan and her girls got ready at the family home of one of the bridesmaids. We first went to the house to check on the girls and to grab the key to the venue before heading to Red Top Mountain State Park. As we were leaving the house, Courtney, of Blush & Berry Photography, had just arrived to take some getting ready and detail photos.

Once we got to the venue, we worked on getting the ceremony chairs set up outside and two of Megan’s uncles graciously came to help us with that! The three of us practiced walking down the aisle to make sure that the chairs were spaced out correctly and then they headed back to the hotel to get ready. We continued to set out the decor, reserved tags, and cornhole before Will and his guys arrived at the venue. The guys were looking so dapper and hung out inside so that there was no chance of Will seeing his bride prior to the first look! Megan, her bridesmaids, Courtney, and her mother arrived at the venue and they grabbed the bouquets (that Megan made herself!) and started to take photos outside. Indoors, we made sure that the guys had their boutonnieres on and weren’t sneaking any peaks outdoors! We guided Megan’s dad outdoors for a precious first look with Megan. Their DJ, Steven, from SVNBEAM of 160 Beggs Court, arrived and started to set up and test sound levels for the ceremony. Next, we took Will outside to finally get a chance to see his bride! After the first look between Megan and Will, Courtney got some bride and groom photos along with full wedding party photos.

It was just about time for the ceremony, so we took the family and wedding party indoors to rest up as guests found their seats. Taqueria Tsunami of Woodstock arrived and started to get the buffet and bar set up for after the ceremony. Guests had found their seats, so we sent everyone down the aisle so Megan and Will could say their I Do's! Following the ceremony, guests were invited up on the porch to enjoy some drinks and cornhole as Courtney continued with photos.

Once photos had wrapped up, guests were invited to their seats and the new Mr. & Mrs. King were introduced for a second time - they walked into Old Town Road which is the song that kicked off their relationship! Megan and Will enjoyed their first dance together and then we were ready for dinner! Taqueria Tsunami provided delicious and unique steak and chicken tacos which everyone devoured. After Megan and Will mingled with their guests, they cut the cake before hearing toasts from their best man and maid of honor. To open up the dance floor, Megan and Will danced with their parents. For the rest of the night, guests partied on the dance floor, mingled under the stars, and enjoyed some final rounds of cornhole!

Something Spectacular

We love when couples add personal touches to their wedding day in order to make their day uniquely theirs. We’ve all heard the saying “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” when it comes to a wedding. Megan decided to borrow her mother’s veil for her wedding day. We love when we see brides borrow something sentimental from their parents' wedding and incorporate it into their day. I mean, come on, look at how stunning Megan was in her mom’s veil!

Happily Ever After

It was such an honor to get to be a part of Megan & Will’s day. You could tell how happy everyone was to celebrate the two of them and the start of their marriage. We could not have asked for a day - cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. King!
