How We Met
Meghan found us on Instagram! She looked through Biltmore's tagged photos and saw that we were on the page a lot, so she decided to reach out. We had a discovery call in March and Meghan & Chase had booked us a few days later! We couldn't wait to get started on their wedding!
Love Story
Their first date almost didn't happen—Chase was stuck in West Virginia on a climbing trip and had to cancel. He rescheduled for a quick happy hour at 5Church between Meghan's other evening plans, and it must have gone well because Meghan kept extending their time together, eventually ending with a sweet side-hug. Chase was so taken with her that he told his friend Joey he’d marry Meghan if he didn’t mess things up, a sentiment Joey can confirm!
When Chase was preparing for a cross-country climbing trip, Meghan jokingly suggested meeting up. Her casual idea turned into a week-long adventure exploring national parks together. By the end of the trip, they realized they’d found not just a partner, but a best friend. Once he knew it was time to pop the question, Chase later enlisted their favorite photographer, Taylor, to help with his proposal at Sunset Rock. Despite Taylor being sick, she managed the surprise perfectly, leading to Meghan's "yes" and a celebration with their families that capped off the perfect engagement.
Down to Business
Meghan was one of our most organized brides to date! While Sarah thinks she can draft up a mean timeline, Meghan took it to another level with her attention to detail around logistics (seriously, she followed the timeline color coding system and then up-leveled it). Chase was always fully supportive and engaged with the planning process, but it was absolutely Meghan who shined during this time. When it was finally go time, Meghan got to relax knowing the amount of thought put into the entire wedding.
The Big Day
The day kicked off at bright and early with the team from Bliss Formal arriving at the “Glam Room” at the Renaissance Midtown. Hair and makeup magic began, with Candice and Rich working their hair magic and Laura, Yana, and Lindsay perfecting everyone’s makeup. Meanwhile, Anna was on muffin and bagel duty, ensuring everyone started their day with some delicious Corner Bakery goodies. With so many gorgeous ladies getting dolled up, the atmosphere was filled with buzzing excitement and anticipation. After the gals got glam, Meghan shared a first look with her dad (captured by photographer, Eve Yarbrough, and videographer, Digitally SB) before leaving for the church!
The day shifted to the Cathedral of Christ the King for the ceremony. Flowers for the wedding party were delivered by Poppy. Meghan and Chase exchanged gifts (orchestrated by the Marmaros team, since they were not going to see each other until the ceremony), and both of them wore their gifts to one another for the rest of the day. The ceremony was beautifully orchestrated by the Wedding Guild at Christ the King. Meghan, escorted by her father, walked down the aisle to the heartwarming strains of Pachelbel’s Canon in D. The vows were exchanged, and the couple was officially pronounced husband and wife. After the ceremony, family and wedding party photos were snapped, capturing all the joy and love of the day.
With the ceremony wrapped up, guests headed to the Biltmore Ballrooms for the reception. Cocktail hour kicked off with a jazz trio from Emerald Empire Band setting the perfect mood. The evening really started to heat up when the Emerald Empire Band took the stage, and Meghan and Chase made their grand entrance as “Mr. & Mrs. Theodore Chase Johnson.” The couple’s first dance was a touching moment, set to Nat King Cole’s “(I Love You) for Sentimental Reasons.”
After a delicious dinner from Bold Catering & Design, the band returned to keep the dance floor lively, and the night was filled with joyous dancing, heartfelt speeches, and special dances. Meghan shared a moving father-daughter dance to Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me,” and Chase danced with his mother to Rascal Flatts’ “My Wish.” As the evening wound down, the couple shared a private last dance to “Consider Me” by Allen Stone before their grand send-off. Guests lined up with white rose petals, showering the newlyweds as they made their way to the Rolls Royce getaway car from Atlantic Limo.
And that’s a wrap on Meghan and Chase’s unforgettable wedding day! From the morning glam to the late-night send-off, every detail was meticulously planned and executed, making for a truly magical celebration. Here’s to the happy couple and a lifetime of love and joy! 🎉💍✨
Something Spectacular
Meghan and Chase toasted to their nuptials with the same champagne flute that Grammy (Chase’s grandmother) used for her own wedding! They were gorgeously hand painted and really added a special touch to the day.
Happily Ever After
We feel so lucky to have been a small part of Meghan & Chase’s special day. Their love for one another is so pure & precious, and it was beautiful to be present with them for their day. Cheers to a long and happy marriage!
