Nina & Peter

8.5.2023 | The Chapel on McEver & Barn South

How We Met

Nina & Peter found us on The Knot and they reached out to us through our website when all they had was a date they wanted to get married but no venue or any other set plans. It took them about a month to solidify their plans and book their venues. So when we ended up doing our discovery call, we were all set and ready to talk a little more specifics about their wedding! We had so much fun and we were looking forward to their day!

Down to Business

In the year we had together to plan their wedding, we met a few times on Google Hangouts and once in person at their 30-day walkthrough where we got to see the inside of The Chapel on McEver along with our typical meeting with Beth at Barn South to make sure our logistics were perfect. We got to know each other well as we made plans to make their wedding day the way they envisioned it! Nina knew what she wanted but also she was very open to opinions from others, which makes our involvement in the process so much for fun!

The Big Day

When there are two locations to a wedding day, it does get a little tricky as we get to setting up and making sure all the vendors are getting everything they need. However, Nina & Peter chose a great group of vendors who not only were very professional but also had been to Barn South before. The day started at The Chapel on McEver as Bonjour Brides did all the ladies' hair & makeup. We had some things to drop off at Barn South before we made our way to The Chapel on McEver so we got to sneak a little peak at what half of Bloom & Ivy’s team was doing to create a magical reception space! When we arrived to The Chapel on McEver, we stopped in the chapel to meet the other half of Bloom & Ivy. They put the finishing touches on the ceremony decor before heading down to the bridal suite where Nina was in the chair getting her hair done and our girl Taylor Swift was playing on a speaker - it was the perfect getting ready vibe! Meanwhile, Irina Chepko Photography & Jessica Sunday Films were capturing detail photos and drone shots of the chapel.

The finishing touches on hair and makeup were being done as Peter and his groomsmen began to arrive ready for the day! Nina got some getting-ready shots with her bridesmaids before stepping into her dress from Wedding Angels! And let us tell you, the sparkle and detail on this dress will have us swooning over it forever! Then we went into a series of first looks! We started with a first look with Nina’s dad, then Peter wanted to do a first look with his mom before Nina & Peter did a first look together! Our couple exchanged personal and private vows before going into some couple photos together.

We knocked out some full bridal party photos and immediate family photos before guests began to arrive and we needed to hide Nina! Atlanta Sound Quartet had arrived, set up, and were beginning the prelude music as guests began to find their seats. When we had a full house, we began the processional! Maybe it’s because Megan had strings playing at her ceremony, but there is something we love so much about live music playing at a wedding that makes everything feel so romantic. We closed the large wooden doors so Nina could make her grand entrance and make her way down to her (soon-to-be) husband. Their ceremony was officiated by one of Peter’s friends (which we always love) and it was short, sweet, and to the point! Chapel bells rang as our newlyweds made their way out of the chapel which brought us so much joy!

Guests were invited to the cocktail hour at Barn South as we got extended family photos, did a petal toss send-off, and then made our way over to the barn! As the last-minute touches inside were put in place, guests were having fun outside. Once we got the okay from all the vendors, guests were allowed into the space to find their seats and enjoy the air conditioning. The surprises weren’t over! Nina had a dress change AND a hair change thanks to Bonjour Bridal who followed us over to Barn South to make sure Nina was picture-perfect all night long!

We introduced the new Mr. & Mrs. Harimtepathip and they went into their choreographed first dance - which is always a touch we LOVE being former dancers ourselves. We heard welcomes from both Nina’s parents and Peter’s mom before the food truck was ready to receive guests! Southern Crust really brought all of our dinner dreams to life with great pasta and wood-fired pizza! Once Nina & Peter ate and greeted their guests, they snuck off for sunset photos. When they returned, we cut the cake (which was STUNNING and delicious) made by Syndesi before hearing toasts from both Nina’s maids of honor and Peter’s best man. Nina & Peter both danced with their parents before we opened the dance floor! DJ Cuttlefish really killed the dance floor for this group! After dancing for a bit, we tossed the bouquet and did a fake send-off before returning back into the barn to finish partying and eating cake with our newlyweds before we called it a night. We loved every minute of this day!

Something Spectacular

Now we’ve had a few fun cocktail hours in our days as wedding coordinators but I think this one takes the cake! When guests arrived at Barn South, they were greeted with a ton of options to entertain themselves! For starters, Get Fizzy was set up with their truck serving wine, beer, and specialty cocktails all night which are always a hit! Then Southern Crust had a taco bar set up for a hardy appetizer while a Dippin Dots cart was set up to help the guests beat the heat! And if that wasn’t enough, Little Gypsy Camera Camper was set up so guests could get their photo taken in the cutest photo booth this side of the Mississippi! What made it even more special, was Nina & Peter decided to join their cocktail hour instead of getting more photos where they talked to their guests and were able to enjoy and relax at their wedding. SO FUN!

Happily Ever After

We loved working with Nina & Peter! Their wedding day was a perfect reflection of the two of them - fun and beautiful. We know that their story is only going to get better as they enter this next chapter together. We wish them every happiness! Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Harimtepathip!
