How We Met
In January of 2023, we received an inquiry from Rachel who heard of Marmaros through her venue, Barn South. Since Rachel and Jack live in Alabama, they were looking for a planner who was familiar with Barn South. We set up a call with Rachel and Jack to go over Marmaros’ history with Barn South and what it is we do! Shortly after that call we had a signed contract in hand and an April 2024 wedding on our calendar!
Down to Business
Since Rachel and Jack live in Alabama, we kept our meetings virtual, but they were always so productive! Rachel always came to meetings prepared and with lots of questions, and it was so cool to see her wedding day coming to shape before our eyes. We did get to meet in person prior to the wedding day when we did a walkthrough at Barn South. After our walkthrough, we had meetings and check-ins leading up to the wedding week to make sure everything was squared away. The evening prior to the wedding day, we all met back up at Barn South for a rehearsal. Rachel and Jack’s group was so attentive in practicing and you could feel the excitement in the air!
The Big Day
The wedding day started with the ladies getting hair and makeup done by Bombshell Creations in the bridal suite at Barn South. We arrived around the same time as Rachel and Jack’s photographer, Rachel of Rachel Key Photography, and their videographer, Haley of Haley Varano Films. Rachel and Haley got straight to work capturing detail photos and getting ready photos. Once the girls were done with hair and makeup, the ladies got into their dresses from Lulu’s and then headed out to the main space to wait for Rachel to get into her dress for a first look. After doing a first look with her ladies, Rachel did a first look with her dad followed by one with her groom. Once Rachel and Jack got a moment to themselves after the first look, they moved on to knocking out as many photos prior to the ceremony as possible.
Guests started to arrive and take their seats for the ceremony while listening to some Bridgerton-inspired music (which we think is the perfect ambiance music, especially for a spring wedding). Once guests were seated and we were ready to start the ceremony, we sent Rachel and Jack’s officiant, Pennye, down the aisle before sending the family and wedding party down the aisle. We closed the barn doors and Taylor Swift’s “Timeless” played for Rachel and her father, Marc to walk down the aisle. Pennye performed a personal and intimate ceremony and before we knew it Rachel and Jack were pronounced husband and wife! After the ceremony, guests were invited to the side patio for some appetizers and drinks while family photos were taken. Once they were wrapped up with family photos, Rachel and Jack decided to join in on their cocktail hour and mingle with their guests for a bit which we loved!
Guests were invited to find their seats for the reception and the DJ, Sloan Lee, announced the wedding party and our newlyweds. Next, Rachel and Jack shared their first dance together as husband and wife. Rachel took the mic and welcomed all of the guests and thanked everyone for coming before dinner service from Carriage House Catering began. After dinner, Rachel and Jack headed over to cut their cake from Publix and heard toasts from their people of honor. Rachel and her dad took the dance floor and shared a dance together to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong followed by Jack and his mom sharing a dance to “Don’t Blink” by Kenny Chesney. Rachel and Jack snuck outside for some (very windy) sunset photos and when they came back in it was time to PARTY! Guests enjoyed the evening dancing to the music, mingling with one another, and hitting the photobooth from 4Ever Moments Photobooth. At the end of the night, Rachel and Jack shared a private last dance together to take in everything of their day while guests headed outside for sendoff. Our newlyweds ran through a sea of bubbles and headed off to their happily ever after. Their day was a great one!
Something Spectacular
A bride’s wedding dress is probably one of the most personal details of the big day, and this was truly the case for Rachel and Jack’s wedding! When we were in meetings leading up to the wedding, I asked if Rachel’s dress had come in and how alterations were going. Rachel then informed me that her grandma was actually going to be making her wedding dress from scratch! My jaw probably hit the floor - this was such a special element of her wedding day. On top of her grandma making her dress, Rachel’s dress also had elements of her mom’s wedding dress in her dress. We absolutely love how Rachel’s dress spans many generations and was encompassed with so much love!
Raving Reviews
"We had Mallory as our coordinator and we couldn't have loved her more! She helped us through all the planning and made sure that all of our vendors had everything they needed day of. Every time I had a question she was quick to answer and even helped me coordinate with the venue on decorating ideas I had. I would definitely recommend them to everyone in need of a coordinator!"
Happily Ever After
Rachel and Jack’s day was a special one to be a part of. We would not be happier for them and wish our newlyweds nothing but the best!
