How We Met
After Rebecca saw Sarah’s photo on the Marmaros website, she knew she had to book us. Rebecca & Sarah grew up playing softball together, and while they hadn’t seen each other in awhile, Rebecca instantly recognized Sarah’s face!
Love Story
During the summer of 2020, our friends (the Bockhops & the Nelsons) conspired to introduce the two of us. After we both agreed, everyone settled on plans for a group outing at Tucker Brewing Company in Tucker, GA. It was a hot, sunny day with cool drinks, good conversation, the Braves game playing in the background, and time spent with friends. By the end of the evening, we both knew we wanted to see each other again.
For our first date, we hiked at Kennesaw Mountain. While we talked and walked, what we initially expected to be a 2-3 mile hike quickly turned into at least 10 miles. We returned to our cars as the sun was setting and enjoyed a picnic dinner on the tailgate.
(Note: Afterwards, Lee went home, considered his life choices, and *his words* "decided this woman was worth getting in shape for".)
The rest is history!
Down to Business
Rebecca, Sarah, and Lee all met (or re-met) for the first time via a Zoom meeting. When asked what Rebecca’s main goal was during the planning process, she answered “To make sure my mom is not stressed about the details and can enjoy the day.” Well, Sarah was sure she could make this happen!
Throughout the planning process, both Rebecca & Lee were heavily involved, but Rebecca was definitely the organizational expert. She filled out each form in its entirety and had every piece of decor accounted for on the day of the wedding. Also, in the midst of planning, Sarah found out that Lee was her husband’s fraternity brother!!
The Big Day
On the day of the wedding, Marmaros arrived at Buford Presbyterian Church to greet Rebecca and her bridesmaids who were already made up and ready to go with amazing work by Bombshell Creations! Izzy + Co. Photography and District Films Co. were already onsite to scope out beautiful photo spots to capture the day. Gertie Mae’s florals began to load in gorgeous, colorful flowers for the ceremony. After ensuring everything was running smoothly, Marmaros and Gertie Mae’s headed over to Buford Community Center to begin to setup for the reception.
Over at the Community Center, Rico’s World Kitchen was already preparing food - including delicious elotes and risotto! Marmaros began setting up all of the table settings and reception decor. All of the table numbers had pictures of the bride & grooms from the age coinciding with the table number! So cute! Proof of the Pudding got the bars set up and DJ Alex Ward with Black Tie Events got his sound table ready to go.
Then, it was time for the big moment!! After a beautiful ceremony at Buford Presbyterian Church, Rebecca & Lee drove off in a blue 1960s convertible after being celebrated with hundreds of colorful streamers. The guests made their way to the reception site, and upon entering Buford Community Center, guests were able to immediately get a drink and find their seats - we loved that the guests had the opportunity to enjoy the reception space from the jump because the florals were so beautiful! After the classic first dance, welcome speeches, a delicious buffet dinner, and cake cutting of a cake from The Baking Grounds, the dance floor was opened so everyone could dance the night away with light up glasses and glow sticks! To take a break from the lively dance floor, guests headed over to the fun photobooth that Chickadee Photobooths had set up. You could tell that everyone LOVED celebrating Rebecca and Lee!
Something Spectacular
Rebecca & Lee found a cute TikTok that used the classic quote from The Princess Bride in wedding decor, so they handmade the same signs. They said “Mawage, Mawage iz wut bwings us togever today.” We thought this was such a fun an unique touch to their wedding day decor!
Raving Reviews
"It was such a pleasure and a relief to work with Sarah at Marmaros. She led us through the wedding planning process by checking in at key points, offering us advice and guidance when we had questions, acting as point person for our vendors, running the show on wedding day, and relieving our families of those duties. I would absolutely recommend working with Marmaros for all your event planning needs!”
Happily Ever After
We wish Rebecca and Lee a lifetime of happiness and a life as colorful as the flowers from their wedding day!
