How We Met
Where do we even start with how we know Robyn and Jody?! Robyn is a hair stylist and Mallory & her mom were actually Robyn’s first clients many years ago. Over the years, Mallory’s family has grown close to Robyn and got to cheer on Robyn in every new chapter in her life! In July of 2022, Robyn and Jody got engaged and shortly afterwards Mallory had a haircut scheduled. In that haircut we talked all about how the engagement happened and what Robyn’s vision was for a wedding (it was one of the most fun haircuts ever). Not long after that cut, Robyn reached out to Mallory asking for Marmaros’ help with her and Jody’s wedding and we were beyond thrilled to get to play a part in their special weekend.
Love Story
Robyn attended a yoga class on a late September evening in 2018 with her sister in law Kristin. As Robyn walked into the yoga studio Jody was teaching in the next studio over. R locked eyes with J and there was an obvious and immediate connection. Due to life and such, Jody and Robyn became fast friends and both couldn't ignore the growing connection. Just a hop, skip, a Yoga Teacher Training, and a jump later and the couple were officially a couple! A trip around the world and back was followed by a global pandemic and the couple grew in ways they never knew they could. They have built more house onto their house, grew their businesses, continued to travel the world with a Paris proposal to boot, and bonded as a little happy family of 4 with Aiden and Zoey (and the kitties too). So much love has grown in these last 5 years and we can't wait to see how much more is in store!
Down to Business
At first, our meetings with Robyn happened over haircuts or trims - this was during the phase of the planning process where we were piecing together the overall vision. Next, we met at a nearby Starbucks to start to get the ideas on paper and really get the planning rolling! Because we were planning Robyn and Jody’s wedding at the same time that Mallory was planning her own wedding, we had frequent check-ins with one another on both weddings which was so fun! At the start of 2024, we headed to Savage Cabinetry, Jody’s business where we were going to hold reception, with Robyn and Jody to continue to discuss details and start to envision what reception would look like. A few months later, we headed to Mountain Park Community Center to do the same thing with the ceremony site! We had a few more meetings and check-ins leading up to the wedding weekend, but we were ready for April to be here!
The Big Weekend
Robyn and Jody split their ceremony and reception across two days, so we had a full weekend of fun celebrating their love!

Wedding weekend started at Mountain Park Community Center where Jody and his family dropped off their trailer of wedding items. Gold and Bloom got to the park to start on the ceremony floral installation which was full of stunning colorful blooms! Robyn was back at the house doing hair and makeup with her bestie and Zoey, her daughter. Mallory and Brenna, the Marmaros team for the day, stopped by the park to ensure everything was set up and beautiful and then headed over to Robyn and Jody’s house to check in on everyone!
Everyone’s hair and makeup was complete when we arrived and Robyn was ready to step into her stunning ethereal dress from Wedding Angels Bridal. Kattie, their photographer, arrived at the house and got straight to work capturing some of the getting ready moments then went out to the backyard to scope out where to do first looks. The first first look of the day was between Robyn and Aiden, her son. After this sweet moment was wrapped up, we hid Robyn back inside and led Jody out to do a first look with Zoey followed by one with Robyn. When we were done with photos at the house, everyone grabbed their keys and headed back over to Mountain Park Community Center for the ceremony!
Guests started to arrive and mingle with one another while Jonathan Adams, Sonic Yogi, played some live acoustic guitar. Guests were instructed to stand close to the gazebo and form an aisle for Robyn and Jody to walk through. Jonathan started to play “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and we sent Jody down the aisle. Zoey continued the processional followed by Hadley, their flower girl. Last but not least, Robyn walked down the aisle escorted by Aiden. Once the wedding party was in the gazebo, guests were invited to join inside the gazebo. Dave Dunn, Robyn and Jody’s officiant, led a personal ceremony complete with a reading of a short story, “Love Monkey” which was read by Robyn’s best friend, Lissa. Ceremony ended with a kiss and a joyous hug of the entire new family.
After the ceremony, we headed out of the gazebo to knock out some formal family photos before Robyn and Jody did some couple portraits! After photos wrapped up, Robyn and Jody headed over to mingle with their guests. They had Mr. Taco come and set up a taco bar along with some of Robyn and Jody’s favorite non alcoholic Mexican drinks! The newlyweds got to have some intimate time with this select group of guests who witnessed their marriage ceremony - eating tacos, spending quality time, and catching up with their loved ones. We loved how they kept this day smaller and more intimate. Once everyone was done with dinner, everyone was invited back to Robyn and Jody’s house to enjoy some yummy cake from Publix and continue spending time together.

The day after their intimate ceremony, Robyn and Jody were hosting a bigger reception at Savage Cabinetry. Robyn and her ladies had a chill morning where they were pampered getting hair done by Rachelle Meadows and makeup done by Make Me Up. Mallory and Sarah, the Marmaros team for Sunday, headed straight to the reception space to set up decor and to make sure we placed the florals from Gold and Bloom in the perfect places around the room. A1 Rentals had already dropped off tables and chairs earlier in the week, so we took time to space those across the room. Robyn and Jody had hosted events for the company before, so they knew that for food they wanted to bring back Chef Steven Lash from SAGE for their reception day. Steven’s team arrived and started to do food prep while the Marmaros team continued to set up decor and desserts. The team from Posh Event Staffing arrived and we introduced them to the team from SAGE and as a group huddled about the flow of the day. Kattie arrived and started to take detail photos of the room which was decorated in a Parisian theme to be a callback to Robyn and Jody’s engagement in Paris!
Guests started to arrived followed by our newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Struminger. Robyn and Jody took the mic to thank their guests for coming to celebrate them and to encourage everyone to mix and mingle with one another! Chef Steven and his team were hard at work on cooking the various courses and let us tell you, the guests absolutely loved watching the process and devouring the food! Next, Robyn and Jody cut their cake from Publix and grabbed a few desserts to enjoy. Then, attention was shifted to the front of the room where Robyn, Jody, Zoey, and Aiden were standing. We listened to the most touching and sentimental speeches from Zoey and Aiden honoring both Robyn and Jody. Once toasts were finished, Robyn and Jody took to the dance floor and shared their first dance together to “You & Me” by Dave Matthews Band. Guests were then invited to join in on the dancing. Everyone danced, mingled, and continued having a great time until it was time for the day to come to a close.
It was so fun to see Robyn and Jody celebrated so well by their loved ones over two days!
Something Spectacular
On Sunday, like we mentioned above, Robyn and Jody had a private chef come and prepare the food for their reception. It’s not every day that you get to watch the process of your food being cooked and that you get to grab a plate right after the food has come off the stove! The food that Chef Steven Lash and his team prepared tasted spectacular and looked beautiful at the same time! What a fun way to entertain and feed your guests along with showcasing the incredible line of work that Jody has with Savage Cabinetry!
Happily Ever After
Every wedding that we get to be a part of is special, but getting to help with the wedding of someone you have known for a majority of your life is another level of special. We were truly so honored to get to play a part in this wedding weekend. We know great things are ahead for the Struminger family and cannot wait to see what the future holds! Congratulations Robyn and Jody!
