Samantha & Austin

How We Met

Samantha & Austin heard about us through one of our former brides, Sarah Kate, and her mother. They passed our information along since the Sinclair’s were impressed with our planning process even though Sarah Kate & Travis hadn’t gotten married yet when they referred us! Samantha & Austin ended up picking Barn South as well for their wedding in July and we were so excited to be heading back there since it was quickly becoming our favorite venue!

Love Story

We love hearing how our couples fell in love and Samantha & Austin's story is no different! We love when our brides are caught off guard and get engaged in the sweetest way! Read Samantha & Austin's story:

"I often forget how we met until someone asks and we have to admit it! Austin and I met by chance in the unlikeliest of places...Tinder. My cousin used to joke and call us a "Tinderella Story" (although now she has one of her own). He messaged first. Even though he messaged first, I finally had to give him my number and tell him to text me if he was interested. Thankfully, he was interested (he tries to tell me that he swears he was about to ask me for my number). He was the perfect gentlemen and took me on a lovely date in the Marietta Square. He wanted to pick me up, but we all know the rules of meeting someone online. I was early and had to wait for him outside the restaurant for a few minutes (he did not get princess parking like I did). While I was waiting, there was a woman outside of the restaurant, that looked so much like my grandma that I had to speak to her. I chatted with her for a few minutes and hoped that it was a sign. The first date went so well that we had our second date the following night (and a third and fourth in the same week)! On the second date, he picked me u, brought me flowers, and met my parents. I knew immediately that this man was something special. After meeting Austin I was on top of the world, and honestly still am. Since swiping right, we have lived life to the fullest together. We built our first home together this past year and can't wait to continue our life together."

"Not to be dramatic, but I knew Austin was the one way sooner than I like to admit. I have been annoyed about him proposing for forever now, I just could not wait to marry this man! Austin knew more than anything, that I wanted the proposal to be a surprise. Boy did he have his work cut out for him! I am very rarely surprised (if ever), and I did not make it easy considering I've asked him when he was going to propose every day for the last 6 months (actually longer). We decided to use my grandma's diamond in my engagement ring, so together we went and picked out the perfect setting for it! I almost cried when I saw how beautiful it was (and that I could not wear it right away). After picking out the ring, I thought the proposal would come any day! Spoiler alert: it didn't. For seven weeks I (not so) patiently waited. SEVEN WEEKS. It felt like an eternity, each weekend I would prepare for him to make plans or something, but it never happened. Finally, I gave up on preparing for it. On August 8th, Austin unexpectedly took off work. He took me to my favorite breakfast place, Cracker Barrel. We floated the Etowah River. We took a nap. After our nap I told Austin that I desperately needed Bruster's ice cream, he suggested going to dinner instead. Being the sneaky man he is, he suggested I wear the new outfit that I had been complaining about not having a chance to wear. He took me to where we had our first date, the Marietta Square, where he got down on one knee and proposed. I honestly can't even remember if he got to ask me to marry him before I ugly cried and said yes. Even better, he had family there to capture the whole thing! I am so lucky to get to marry this man, and he is so thankful to never hear the words "are you ever going to propose?" ever again."

Down to Business

We always met in person in Downtown Woodstock and it was always over good food! Sam would text us with questions and give her name and wedding date like we didn’t know who she was. It was fun to pick on her about that throughout the planning process! At our final walk-through, they even got to meet Megan’s crazy dogs since they were along for the ride! With so much fun planning, we knew this wedding was going to be a blast and we couldn’t wait!

The Big Day

When we arrived at Barn South on wedding day, Styles on Site was working hard to get all the ladies ready for the day. Everyone was relaxed and so excited for the day! Marialice Souther, our florist, was putting the finishing touches on the gold infinity arch as we began to plan out table numbers to make the flip a little easier. We set up the welcome table with guest books and a spot for the family members that are no longer with us. Not too long after, their photographer, Andrea Kelley, & their videographer, Garrick from G.D. Productions, arrived and began taking detail shots. Once the last bridesmaid was finished with hair and make-up, we took pajama photos before the bridesmaids put on their dresses to go wait out in the ceremony space while Samantha put her dress on with the help of her mother. Next, we did three first looks back to back to back! We love first looks if you couldn’t tell! First, all Samantha’s girls got to see her in her final look, then Samantha’s dad. Lots of tears were flowing as we were getting Austin ready for his first look with Samantha! He was so surprised to see her since every time she watches Say Yes to the Dress she didn’t like the fitted look - but it looked STUNNING on her! We moved into couple photos & bridal party photos before tucking away as guests started to arrive. DJ Connection was set up and playing music while Pour Up ATL was getting the bar set up for the night! When we were ready to go, we started the processional to get these two married!

The ceremony was so sweet and a perfect reflection of Samantha & Austin! Complete with a unity candle and a reading from a very close family member. They were pronounced husband & wife and the guests exploded with joy and cheers! We quickly got Samantha & Austin outside for photos but it started sprinkling so we got a chance to break out the clear umbrellas! It rained just enough to get pretty photos and give them good luck!

Samantha & Austin got photos with their bridal party and family before heading off to get more photos together. During this time, we had plenty of help flipping the room since the rain deterred the guests from going out to cocktail hour. We did it in record time! Guests began finding their seats and relaxing as we lined up the bridal party for introductions! This fun group danced right in and everyone got on their feet as the new Mr. & Mrs. Clayton were announced into the reception and went straight into their first dance. We heard a beautiful speech from Samantha’s dad before opening the buffet and beginning dinner. Williamson Bros didn’t disappoint either - it’s a personal favorite of ours! We snuck out to get some golden hour photos before cutting the beautiful cakes from Publix and hearing toasts from Samantha & Austin’s favorite people. Then we did the parent dances and a very sweet anniversary dance before opening the dance floor and partying!

Something Spectacular

Even though we planned that the fake sparkler send-off would be just for family and the bridal party, when this group saw we were handing out sparklers, all the guests were outside ready to {fake} send off Samantha & Austin! It was so sweet to see everyone cheering them on and then head right back inside to party some more!

Raving Reviews

"I cannot express how thankful I am for Marmaros Productions! My venue required a day-of coordinator, and their company was recommended by a friend. Our entire experience was amazing, from our initial inquiry to my hundreds of questions and even down to communicating after the wedding! Megan knew our wedding better than we did, everything was seamless and we owe that all to her. My husband and I’s main goal was to feel stress-free on our wedding day so that we could focus on ourselves and each other, Megan helped us accomplish this! From the moment we met her, it felt like she was a longtime friend of ours. I was sad at the end of the wedding night that our time was up with her. She was so amazing, we’ve had multiple guests reach out to us for her contact information! You can’t go wrong booking Marmaros Productions!"

Happily Ever After

Working with Samantha & Austin truly was so much fun! We will miss our Woodstock dates to plan their wedding but we know that they are onto great things! We wish you every happiness in this new journey of marriage! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Clayton!
