Sarah & Westley

5.13.2023 | Howe Farms

How We Met

Sarah & Westley reached out in October of 2021! They heard about us through their venue, Howe Farms since we are on their preferred vendor list. We scheduled a call to talk about their wedding and how Marmaros could help them achieve their dream day! A few days later, we had a signed contract in hand and we were ready to begin planning!

Down to Business

Since these two were in a different state from us and in a constant state of changing locations (it’s like they were trying to be doctors or something), all our meetings took place on google hangouts. We could catch up and go over details no matter what timezone the lovebirds were in! At the 30-day walkthrough, we met Sarah & her mom for the first time at Howe Farms to talk details and see The Woodlands - a venue within Howe Farms we’d never been to before! The day was getting so close and we were so excited!

The Big Day

One thing we love about Howe Farms is that wedding day getting ready can start early and the space for both the bride & bridesmaids along with the groom & groomsmen are large and so fun! Ashley Sorrentino who did everyone’s hair & Shawna Vassallo who did everyone’s makeup, arrived early to get started on the day! The ladies arrived and brought breakfast and lunch with them along with champagne so that they stayed full and bubbly! We arrived a few hours later to make sure everything was going well with the ladies and to start laying out the linens for the reception tables. Lang Floral Design arrived not long later to start the ceremony arches and dropping centerpieces for the linened tables. Roan Weddings was already hard at work doing photo & video - grabbing detail shots and final touch photos before heading outside for a champagne pop and getting ready photos! The guys had arrived in their black silk robes to their side of the suite and began hanging out and enjoying the day!

When getting ready photos were done for the ladies, the bridesmaids and moms stepped into their dresses while Sarah stepped into her wedding dress from LVD Bridal so we could knock out some first looks! We started with a first look with Sarah’s Mom, then moved on to both Westley’s mom and stepmom, before a grand reveal for the bridesmaids! We got all the bridesmaids' photos knocked out and then Sarah got to do a first look with her father. First looks are truly the most fun part of the pre-ceremony time! Sarah & Westley took a few minutes to do a first touch and read their personal vows to each other which really was so sweet to watch. We love when couples don’t want to see each other but still want to interact and do a first touch - they are so fun! Both Sarah & Westley got emotional as they told each other how much the other meant to them and made those sweet forever vows! Afterward, Westley got some photos with his groomsmen as guests began to arrive and take their seats for the ceremony! In the meantime, DJ Terry had arrived and began setting up his equipment along with Tipsy Tin getting their little trailer into place and getting ready for the post-ceremony rush!

Our officiant, Rev Jill Dillner was the first down the aisle to ask guests not to have their phones out during the ceremony but instead be unplugged and present for Sarah & Westley! Then we began the family processional followed by the wedding party - all except one. Westley’s brother (who also was the best man and the owner of Roan Weddings, the photography & videography company) got to throw the petals for Sarah to walk down the aisle. It was such a fun addition to their day! The ceremony was so sweet and full of love! There were even some funny moments where Sarah & Westley’s personalities really came in and made it so personal!

After rings were in place and the vows were said, Sarah & Westley were officially husband & wife and got to kiss for the first time that day! We were so happy for them! Guests were invited to go out to the patio for cocktails while we flipped the ceremony space to a dance floor and Sarah & Westley got to take some photos together. When everything was ready for reception, guests were invited to find their seats and we began introductions by bringing in the whole wedding party together before the new Mr. & Mrs. Ongtengco were brought in! We heard a speech from Westley’s father before opening the buffet. And let us tell you, the smell of the food was making us so hungry all afternoon and we were so ready to try some as well! Food Works Catering had a beautiful spread of food that guests ate up!

When everyone was content with the food in their bellies, Sarah & Westley came over to cut the cake. This cake was so pretty thanks to Blue Willow Bakery (and it was so yummy too)! We relocated Sarah & Westley back to their head table to hear toasts from both maids of honor & best men. When we were done, guests were invited over to the dance floor (formerly the ceremony space) to watch Sarah & Westley’s first dance and both their dances with their parents. Once each special moment was over, we opened the dance floor and it was a PARTY! DJ Terry turned it up even though the sun wasn’t down yet! We snuck out for some sunset photos after Sarah put on her reception dancing dress and did a champagne tower toast as we kept dancing! A few hours later, the bar had closed and the food was gone and it was time to say goodbye to the newlyweds! Everyone lined up in front of the classic car while the new Ongtengcos did a private last dance. We sent Sarah & Westley off in a spark!

Something Spectacular

Sarah & Westley’s ceremony was so intentional. We loved every minute of their ceremony. However, one moment really stands out to us. When Rev Jill instructed, the best man took both Sarah & Westley’s rings to each set of parents. The parents were to hold the rings in their hands for a few seconds to “warm” them. They could wish for something for their marriage or pray over them in that time. Then Sarah & Westley put the rings on each other’s fingers with the blessings still warming them. What a special way to not only get their parents involved but to also carry a blessing with them wherever they go!

Happily Ever After

Working with Sarah & Westley truly was a dream. We loved being able to be there with them through planning for a year and a half along with being able to make sure their day was as fun and special as they are. We know that these two bright and beautiful doctors will make the world a better place! Cheers to the newlyweds!
